1 Day

 Travel: Flight to Kenya with a stop in London

3 Days

 Nyumbani Children’s Home: Crafts/games/chores with children, Mass

20 Days

 Service Project: To be determined by the individual/group before departure to Kenya. The duration of the service project will most likely take place in one location

2 Days

 Sightseeing options: David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, AFEW Giraffe Centre, Hippo and walkabout safari, Nairobi Arboretum, Oloragasaile Prehistoric Site

3 Days

 Cultural experience options: Visit- a Maasai community to teach pre-school and work with women artisans; outreach clinics in the compromised communities around Nairobi; KIabethu Tea Farm Museum; Nairobi National Museum, Karen Blixen’s Museum and Homestead

1 Day

 Travel: Flight to DC with a stop in London

Things You Need to Know

  • Flights are booked by the traveler on British Airways, cost not included in KEST Package
  • Lodging and most meals are included in KEST Package (except lunches/ dinners at restaurants)
  • Transportation and tips while in Kenya are included in KEST Package
  • Travelers are responsible for acquiring Passport, Visa, and required shots
  • Extra spending money is highly recommended; currency exchange is available at the airport
  • Each traveler is expected to pack a 50-pound duffle of donations, in addition to their one personal suitcase. Donations requested are determined by the site directors of the programs we serve.

  • Communities presenting possible projects for service
  • Nyumbani Children’s Home- an orphanage for HIV+ children in Karen, Kenya
  • Nyumbani Lea Toto Outreach Programs- clinics in compromised communities around Nairobi
  • Nyumbani Village- a multi-generational, self-sustaining community of orphaned children and grandparents
  • Pastoral Community Development Alliance (PCDA)- a growing Maasai organization focused on childhood education and sustainable income for women

2 Months prior to departure – 25% Deposit due
1 Month prior to departure – Remaining Balance due

Trip details are tentative until the travel group is established. Itineraries are custom-made to the desires of the travelers. Most people on the 30-day trip are former KESTers or seasoned travelers.
